What is the best way to get real help for claiming a listing in google places?

I've tried to add my listing in google places and after submitting it I got the confirmation code by phone right away but there is no place in my dashboard to insert it. My listing status says "Action needed - Incomplete". After browsing the google places help forum this problem seems to be very common but I could not find a reason or a solution. Is there a way to get google places help?

There is no way to get real help in your situation unless it is a user issue. Google only offers volunteer based support for Places. Because your issue is probably a Google quality filter of some sort, no volunteer in the forums is going to have the reason as to why Google imposed it.

Just to update the information for this question. There is currently a way to get real, prompt help for verification problems. You can use the Google Places troubleshooter: http://support.google.com/places/bin/static.py?hl=en&ts=1399021&page=ts.cs After you submit your problem, receiving a response (currently, January 2012) would take 2-3 business days.
