What’s Dynamic Keyword Insertion, And How Should I Use It?

When using Google AdWords with dynamic keyword insertion on the landing page, do Google bots look at the landing page for each keyword when calculating the quality score?

  • the quality score depends on the relevance of the landing page to the keyword and the ad. do they crawl the landing page once per ad group or for every keyword? What if you use dynamic keyword insertion in the ad text as well?

  • Answer:

The quality score gets calculated every time an auction starts for a specific keyword. DKI or not doesn't make any difference there.

They do crawl for every keyword and ad relation. So the best idea for DKI will be to create ad groups with only one keyword in them (MBM, phrase, exact), that way you're more likely to ring positive with Google when you get crawled. As you know though, the biggest part of a great QS, is a high CTR. Cheers!

Thats a very interesting question and while I do not have an exact answer for you I can tell you with confidence that any potential lowering of your quality score due to your dynamically changing ad text as compared to your landing page would be far outweighed by the increase of your quality score due to the relevance of your ad text to the search query and the likely increase of your CTR.

The QS is calculated for every keyword EVERY single time when the keyword is being triggered. Therefore it doesn't matter how you craft your ad. ( Dynamic or manual )
