How do I put videos in chronological order on a YouTube playlist?

  • When I add a video to a playlist on my YouTube site, it goes to the bottom of the playlist. Is there a way to set the default to make it go to the top of the playlist? I ask because my company has an app that pulls video from our YouTube playlists and the videos appear on the app in the order they appear on the playlist. We want the newest videos to go to the top of the playlist -- on both YouTube and our app. Thanks to anyone who can help me out!

    You can do this using the YouTube API, by specifying a yt:position parameter in the request. See this reference: https://developers.google.com/youtube/2.0/developers_guide_protocol_playlists#Adding_a_video_to_a_playlist There's no way to change the default behavior of a playlist itself. When in your Playlist editor, you can click and drag your video from the bottom to the top. You can also select the video and use the "actions" drop down arrow to move video to top.
