I've been wondering... At 3pm everyday I tend to hit a wall. How can I keep my energy level high throughout that period so that I can get more done?

Answer:
I've found that sandwiches make me tired and salads keep me going. Try changing up what you're eating and stay away from food that require a lot of digestion.

Your lack of energy could be due to a whole bunch of things. Initial thoughts are:1. Are you taking a lunch break? If you're working through lunch and not taking a real break it's little wonder your energy level is dropping by 3.2. What you're eating for lunch. Certain foods and quantities of food will make people feel drowsy a couple of hours after eating them.3. As Bhavani said in her response, if you're not getting enough sleep at night that's going to affect how long you can push yourself for during the day. 4. Are you moving around enough and getting outside? If you spend all day in an office sitting down, you're definitely going to become sluggish and tired. At lunchtime, get outside in the sun and walk around, get your blood flowing. If you can offer more information on your routine, we can help you more effectively.

I sympathise with you, there are two things which have worked exceptionally well for me:1) Bulletproof Coffee:You don't have to stress over buying the original bulletproof coffee gear, as long as you get your beans from an independent shop they are good enough. Blend it with coconut oil and grass-fed butter (I use Kerrygold in the UK) and have it in the morning. Unlike regular coffee, the coconut oil and butter help release the effects of caffeine slowly through the day giving you energy for prolonged 8/10 hours. 2) Not drinking coffee:This might sound contradictory but on some occasions, not drinking coffee first thing in the morning is immensely helpful. In fact, science has shown that we don't need coffee as soon as we wake up because our minds are already alert so saving it to have after lunch or 2/3pm might give you the boost that you're looking for. As a last note, if you're falling asleep perhaps you're not getting enough good sleep so make sure you're getting 7-8 hours a night of good sleep and that they're regular. Ex; sleeping at the same time every night and waking up at the same time too. On the other side of the coin, argument has it that it doesn't hurt to take an afternoon nap. Make sure you don't fall into deep sleep for hours but anything less than an hour is considered good enough time to help one recharge and tackle the rest of the day with renewed energy.
