Where are the places where coffee beans are grown?

Who are the best retailers for purchasing green coffee beans?

  • I know of Sweet Marias and More Coffee but would like to know of other popular places a home roaster can buy green beans in small quantities.

    Sweet Maria's (http://www.sweetmarias.com/index.php) really is the go-to place for green coffee. Cafe Imports (http://cafeimports.com/) is solid, but mostly on a professional roaster level.  I think you have to buy in bulk with them (25 lbs ish?). Try a local coffee roaster. I've had friends that home roast that have bought green coffee from a local roasters. It's a great option if your roaster is open to that, and if they are, it's a great place to get some advice too.  It's a bit more expensive than Sweet Maria's, but you can compare your roast profile to your favorite shop's. Edit: According to 's comment Our Coffee Barn (http://cewyr.cpdzh.servertrust.com/Default.asp) is the home-user version of Cafe Imports. Good to know!

I buy primarily from Sweet Marias. I got an 8 lb assorted sample from http://Roastmasters.com in January when I purchased my Hottop. They seem like a good outfit. You can always try the 8 lb sample which is a great deal for $15! I also tried a local roaster several years ago when I was just getting into roasting. They were OK but at only a dollar off from their roasted prices, much too expensive.
