    Great list by . I'd add Alien. The sentient robot is an antagonist in the movie, but is not in any way running amok or turning on humanity. Rather, he is following the nasty instruction of humans faithfully.

Star Trek has many sentient artificial life forms that are friendly. Most notable are Data in The Next Generation, and The Doctor in Voyager. There are the occasional stories where there is a robot-gone-wild, but usually they are viewed as good.
