What minor is better to have - Marketing or Managing?

What is a good tool / software for managing a marketing database?

• Are there any cost effective tools for small businesses out there that will combine different marketing lists and provide tools to search and make selections for campaigns. The list are not just email, some are for telemarketing, some for Direct mail, just looking for a way to have a central database that is not a CRM tool ( we have salesforce for this)

  Silverpop, Marketo and Eloqua all have some great marketing automation platforms, some of which sync with http://Saleforce.com.  If you are looking to keep your costs low, Salesforce and pretty much all email deployment companies allow you to import/export lists, so just invest in Access and manually manipulate your data.
