How To Find Do Follow Blogs?

How do Tumblr newbies find people to follow, other than the suggested users?

  • Tumblr has done a great job suggesting blogs to follow, but how do regular Tumblr users find other regular users to follow?

  • Answer:

Use tags. If you see post that interests you, click the relevant tag underneath (assuming it has been properly tagged) i.e. 'Batman' This will bring up a feed of all posts tagged 'Batman'; http://www.tumblr.com/tagged/batman Scan the feed and find other, regular, likeminded users. Do this for any subject you find interesting. You can just write the name of the tag straight into the above URL, replacing 'Batman' with the new tag (hyphens separate words); http://www.tumblr.com/tagged/your-tag

read the full article on http://techcrunch.com/2012/05/31/tumblrs-new-lookup-page-lets-you-find-friends-via-facebook-and-twitter/ Popular blogging platform http://www.tumblr.com/ has quietly introduced a minor, but notable new feature: a better way to find contacts through your other social networking services or Gmail. On the page available at http://bitly.com/tumblrfindpeople you can now connect your Gmail, Twitter and/or Facebook accounts to find all your friends’ Tumblr blogs.Handy. Well, handy if you’re the one doing the looking, I suppose. As Buzzfeed’s community moderator http://www.linkedin.com/pub/ryan-broderick/26/6a3/28b https://twitter.com/ryanhatesthis/status/207588639402754048, “Great, thanks to the new http://www.tumblr.com/lookup/ page all my friends will find my One Direction fanblog I moderate!” Oh and yes they will, too. Because it appears that the option to remove yourself from social discovery is opt-out. While Tumblr doesn’t appear to have made an official announcement on this new feature yet (at least via the http://staff.tumblr.com/, that is), the company did tweet, err…https://twitter.com/ItsPrettyDigitl/status/207842635933696000, about the addition yesterday. And today, responding to an https://twitter.com/carystheimpaler/status/207951193698353152 via Twitter, the Tumblr account https://twitter.com/tumblr/status/207957204219871232 “if you don’t want your Facebook or twitter linked, just uncheck the box in your settings.”To be clear, Tumblr allowed users to look up contacts via email in the past, announcing http://staff.tumblr.com/post/117892794/lookup-contacts the option to search via Gmail, Yahoo, Hotmail, AOL or MSN. But the page for doing so (http://www.tumblr.com/lookup_contacts) now redirects to http://www.tumblr.com/lookup instead. The feature appears to have rolled out last week, based on some early tweets, but we’ve reached out to Tumblr to confirm and will update with details when we hear back. find on http://google.com

I've actually found quite a few of my follows by clicking through on reblogs by people I was already following, as well as clicking through on people who have followed me or liked my posts. I don't follow everyone I check out in this manner, but I have certainly found enough follows to justify the methodology. It's a bit time-consuming, but to be honest I can eliminate a lot of the possibilities in one glance. T
