How do Tumblr newbies find people to follow, other than the suggested users?

I've actually found quite a few of my follows by clicking through on reblogs by people I was already following, as well as clicking through on people who have followed me or liked my posts. I don't follow everyone I check out in this manner, but I have certainly found enough follows to justify the methodology. It's a bit time-consuming, but to be honest I can eliminate a lot of the possibilities in one glance. T
