What is enterprise market solutions?

What is the market footprint of various enterprise search solutions (Microsoft FAST, Google, Autonomy, Endeca, Coveo, Vivisimo, etc.)?

  That is exactly the question all analytic companies, including Gartner and Forrester, are trying to address. So there is no clear answer and that is huge component of marketing, so there is plenty of murky discussions. General opinion was that Autonomy is the leader, however they are going out of search business itself, rather to managing information lifecycle and information in corporate environments. Microsoft (includes Fast now): Is huge because of growing Sharepoint ecosystem, however their solutions have notable issues when you are to make them work with non-MS products (random ERP system, non-Dynamics CRM, et cetera). Fast used to be quite big as well, however, now focus is clearly moving towards Microsoft only solutions, leaving big projects aside, and going for coverage of search in medium and large Sharepoint and MS based environments. Endeca was traditionally considered to be good for search in structured datasets, and being the best fo e commerce internet solutions. Google is not tunable and flexible enough to be considered seriously. Recommind is specializes in legal search, and provides more or less classical enterprise search platform. Basically, I am repeating what is said in Gartner, CMS Watch and Forrester reports. And there is no simple answer, it depends a lot on what kind of environment and requirements you are working with.
