I spend most of my days at the TEL building in the Mac computer labs for my design classes. It's pretty different than the rest of the campus. I have an access badge that lets me use these mac labs. My schedule is pretty awesome where I commute to school 2-3 days a week. If I don't bring my own lunch, I'll buy something at York Lanes or the student centre. Never ever felt unsafe at York before so hearing all the negativity in the media is pretty annoying. It's really not bad!

Second home .. sounds about right .. many may complain that york is over priced ( which it is) and we need more resources. ( which we can use more of but have a decent amount ) ... it depends on how you view life really, the simplest things are really good enough, if one goes expecting University is going to be like the movies, they will most likely be disappointed, focus on the positives, My typical day , - class, appreciate that about 1% of the total population, maybe even less, get a undergraduate degree. remember and understand what it really takes to become a professor. - food break, yes yorku doesn't have any healthy places to eat, so best to make your own, this way you know what you're eating and how it affects your body and mind . - gym/exercise , it is important to get daily exercise ( but not to the point where it drains you out and you can't study..( I'm a hypocrite) but its your choice). - Social interactions , they are very important, yes you may talk to your friends, but it is best to start making connections. IF YORK HAS ANYTHING TO OFFER ITS CONNECTIONS . BUILD A SOCIAL NET WORK - be kind, know your strengths, how you work best and what you bring to the table and let others see that. you never know when you're going to run into your next physician, plumber, gymnastics coach for your children, teacher. list goes on. - and in this day , i believe " Its not WHAT, you know. but WHO you know." - Sleep, attempt to study, sleep, then study or sleep some more. - most important is that you have a rested brain so you can study well. Quality of quantity. ( even though we have a huge amount of it! ) that being said, and if you're not taking those courses like anatomy where you must know everything >.>... apply the concepts to our life :). - class again, and back on to the bus headed home. And i understand that many have part-time to full time jobs , with other obligations. but use what yorku really has to offer. there is so much that many don't see what the point of a University. even though , yes it is a business, focus on the silver lining. Everything is man maid after all , can't be perfect..

Life itself is decent. The rest isn't the great. If you haven't already accepted, look at other schools. I did two years there and the administration screws you so often you stop getting angry, you just learn to accept it as getting York'd

Alex Noudelman: I am a York Graduate and I find that the classes are very competitive and many professors mark by bell curve. It's hard to juggle a p/t or f/t job while studying full time...but, then again how will you pay off school?

Dodging bullets, fleeing from muggers, fending rapists. Just kidding. But in all seriousness, the York campus can get pretty dangerous (especially the side closer to Jane st. Near the pioneer village) In terms of student life, it is similar to most of the other schools (it's really what you make of it). York does have a higher percentage of students who commute as opposed to live on campus.
