What are some examples of widely adopted v1 consumer Internet products?

• With so much overuse of the term "pivot" these days, I've been thinking about what goes into making great products. It all makes me wonder who has created a high quality consumer internet product that was -widely- adopted from version 1. i.e. something that, with very little changes, was mass consumer friendly but also hit on all the important points to excite the early adopters. (Please exclude Facebook and Google unless you have a very specific reason why you think they need to be discussed - like insights into different approaches to product development, etc.)

  Firefox 1.0, from the not-for-profit Mozilla Foundation, was widely adopted from the first version. It has certainly grown in popularity since then but there's little question that Firefox made browsers interesting again and restarted the entire industry.
