Online Backup Service Catered Towards Photo Sharing?

  • So, I'm looking to find a better online backup option - mainly for a plethora of photos/videos. I'm currently using CrashPlan+ and while I am attracted to the price (~$5/mo), I'm looking for something that makes it a little easier to share what's being backed up - either socially or privately.   The service with the best options I've seen thus far is Zoolz but they seem to be pretty inactive. I'm not sure if the service is going anywhere and that makes me nervous.   Specifically, I'm looking for a service that would provide the following: An interface to access      backed-up files via the web (and, optionally, via mobile apps) That online interface should      be photo-friendly. (i.e., Generously-sized thumbnails, etc.) A way to enable access to      specific folders to family/friends… and anything I add to those folders in      the future should be viewable to them as well. A way to enable one-click      Facebook sharing of multiple JPGs (i.e., a gallery) a monthly cost of $10/mo or less I've thought about purchasing additional storage for Google Drive and Picasa but Picasa doesn't allow for subfolders and, thus, wouldn't be a viable solution for that next-to-last item in the list above. I really do love that Picasa app though. :-/   http://SpiderOak.com looks to be my best option yet but social sharing isn't an option and private sharing - what they call a "ShareRoom" -  is a little *too* easily-accessible. Eerily so. Basically, their ShareRooms are accessible using a relatively-short, "friendly" URL... as opposed to one of those really long Picasa URLs that feature a bunch of different random URLs. (I guess I could create those long/weird URLs manually...)   Courtesy of some suggestions/answers from other related posts on here, I've looked at using SkyDrive, Mozy, MiMedia (their TOS is a little unsettling), BackBlaze, SOS, and even my 50gb of Box storage but nothing seems to fulfill the above criteria… unless I'm mistaken. The closest alternative, aside from Zoolz (which really does sound perfect), is SugarSync. I may take yet another look at them. Any others? Adobe Revel might work (for Photos only) but it's not available for Windows yet. :-/ Thanks all!

Hi, I’m Jonathan Benassaya, founder of Stream Nation. I think we might be able to fulfill most of the detailed criteria you listed above. Stream Nation is cloud storage that's built with photos and videos in mind. Here are the features I think you might like: Private sharing: You can give friends and family access to specific folders (we call them “collections”). Anything you add to these collections will be automatically shared with them. You can also create a collection-within-a-collection to keep things organized but they’ll have the sharing settings of their ‘parent’ collection. How to share with friends on Stream Nation Never public: We don’t have sharing links or embed codes so your photos and videos will never leave Stream Nation. (You can always download from your account and re-upload to share on social networks. We’re just not interested in getting in the middle of that!)   Beautiful thumbnails: We keep the emphasis on the visual in the photo and video streams. Tour your photo and video stream: Mobile access: You access all your content using our apps for iPad/iPhone and move your photos and videos from your mobile device straight to your account. Friends can download the app and access the collections you’ve shared with them. Uploading and downloading from iPad or iPhone Cost: Our prices are very competitive, starting from $4/month for 100GB. We’ve got a whole of other features like offline viewing, auto-organization, a desktop uploader, and so on but I'll leave it to that for now. If you're interested, send me a private message on Quora and I can set you up with a free account to try it out.

Why not ?  Their web viewer for photos and videos is great and seems to be actively developed.  Plus it's super easy to share any file or folder.
