How to open file using Google drive api?

I am trying to lay property parcel lines down in Google Maps API using KML files.  What is the best way to get around the KML file size limit of 10MB that google has?  Is there a better method to use other than KML files?

  • Answer:

Use a master file that is a network link, which then connects to your other KMLs, probably presented by region. That way you only direct the API to load one file, but it bundles multiple files together. This is how image pyramids and regionated KML files are organized. And Google Earth Pro or EC can regionate a KML for you, breaking it into smaller chunks, displayed when you are in the correct region for each chunk.

You can use the KMZ filetype when saving the KML file from application. KMZ is a compressed format of KML file format. But saying this, if the data itself is of this size then it will take almost same time to load as it may do by using the KML file format.
