What are the good ways to evaluate a UI designer?
-
How do I interview an UI designer and make sure he can deliver? Should we assign him some small design work to evaluate him from the deliverable or is their a better way to do it? How are UI designers' interviews generally done?
-
Answer:
They should have the skill requirements for a senior level graphic designer, and hopefully coding (front-end) knowledge and experience as well. Having them perform a test project is a great way to see their thinking behind a project. Require them to input their intention and documentation into their wireframe or flows. These components all encompass something a normal designer would not consider doing - and would be lucky for you to catch before hire.
