Is it possible to make your own wikipedia page?

Hi, how do I make a search result from Wikipedia, Bing etc stays on same page instead of browser opening up another tab? I am using Drupal7 with these search features on site front page sticky on top basic page I want visitors to not drift away!

  • The reason I do this is because I want the iGoogle like customized site, giving Bing, Wikipedia etc search boxes easily accessible to them, yet I want them not to wander away from my site so they can look at my advts, articles etc.

  • Answer:

If the results page shows up in the current tab, your site still gets buried, in the history.  Who knows if they'll hit "back" and return to the site or not. I use iframes.  I know some people hate them, but it lets my websites show OTHER websites inside my pages.  Here's an example: http://reiber.org/nxt/bin/view/Projects/MegaRobotProjects You can enjoy browsing RJ's site in the iframe, yet outside of that, my website's still there on the page, so people can easily navigate to other pages in my wiki. So... if you (a) make an iframe and give it a name, (b) massage the links being returned by  wikipedia/bing/google/etc. so they use target=(the name) ...then those links should put the resulting page in the iframe instead of in YOUR frame/tab. Hope that helps! -pbr
