Why is it that all the neighbor countries of India are in some sort of a war or unstable peace condition?
-
Neighbouring countries such as Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, and more recently Nepal are all in a very unstable condition.

Sri Lanka and Myanmar have to deal with ethnic tensions, Nepal with competing political ideologies, Bangladesh with crushing poverty, and Pakistan with all three of those plus religious extremism. None of these things are unique to South Asia, unfortunately.

Some user commented about nepal having a problem with china.Actually Nepal has none. No border issues. No imigrant issues. No bullying issues...no political interference or whatsoever with china.Well except for few "free tibet" protests of the refugees, Nepal is living in a perfect harmony next to china. It is down the southern plains (towards India) where our problems originate. India has been balantantly encroaching nepalese territory in numerous places. As a bigger nation India always looks for the first opportunity to dent its foot in nepal's internal matters. Making matters worse in most cases. As a country, India might have prospered leaps and bounds but in terms of handling the regional politics, india still harbours and boasts a 'butcher' attitude. No wonder all its neighbour have an ever growing disgust towards it.

Agree with , a combination of poverty, ethnic tensions and religious extremism is hampering all these nations. Another thing to note here is that Pakistan is next to Afghanistan which clearly contributes to the political situation there. Nepal has its own problems with China. So I don't think been close to India has anything to do with all these countries problems.

Sri Lanka is still recovering from the civil war but of all these countries, they have the best odds of coming through and doing well as a nation and an economy. Pakistan started out in better economic shape than India in the 50s but lost its way in a few decades, purely due to unstable governments, utterly misplaced priorities and an obfuscated education system. The fact that they could have done much better is evident in the quality of Pakistani professionals abroad. Yet they have a long trek ahead, assuming they choose the right path. Bangladesh has a horrible social structure, ridden with corruption and feudal mentality (well actually the whole of the subcontinent has this mentality, leaving out Sri Lanka perhaps). India itself is mired in policy paralysis from a political system that is democratic but faces severe shortages of good technocrats. Poor work ethic and corruption are a common feature across sectors - something that makes the future seem much harder than its usually painted to be.

The question is how come India is stable while all her neighbors are unstable.

Britishers. They left such a mess behind them in all the countries they ruled. Israel-Arabs, Indian sub continent are classic examples. The pile of shit is so huge that we can't even clear the smell forget the shit itself. It is deep rooted in social fabric - things like religion and beliefs

Possibly the entire Indian Subcontinent would have made a better political unit. The Republic of India as it is has so much diversity that it lacks clear lines to polarise on. Of course lots of other countries nowhere near India are unstable.

Why do people forget that Bhutan is also a neighbor of India. And unlike Pakistan, Sri Lanka or Bangladesh, Bhutan is quite stable and peaceful. In our haste to make unseemly generalizations we forget that the premise itself is incorrect.

because it is of tremendous benefit to India if all of this nation remain unstable. Lets take Sri Lanka for example. Who do you think provided arms, ammunition and funding to the LTTE terrorist? Guns and bombs don't just come out of thin air. And how was it that, depsite so many international sanctions mother f22kers LTTE terrorists were able to get enough ammunition to fight against Sri Lankan forces for decades? Think! Think deeply and think critically. And don't use your knees to think. Use your brain. Same with Nepali maoist. Nepali maoist was declared a terrorist organization by the US and the Nepali government. What did India do? India provided asylum to all Nepali maoist leadership. Gave them home in Noida. Told them to continue the fighting. And suddenly, there was the massacre of King and all his entire family. And somehow, Nepali maoist were able to acquire enough ammunition to fight against Nepalese army and continue their insurgency for nearly 1 decade. Nepal a country that doesn't even produce enough food for its people to eat and Nepali maoist had enough guns and bombs to train 28000 soldiers. Again, think. Think with your brain. Not your asshole. And what to say about Bangladesh. Every time Bangladesh is about to sign some big project with China or get military assistance from China, all hell breaks loose. From out of nowhere, groups begin to prop up and start protesting. Who benefits by blocking development activities in Bangladesh. Think. Well, you have got something to think about! Ponder, ruminate and cogitate about it.

On a side note, A country is made by war, sustained by more war and then another country is born.
