Is it standard for freelance writers to have a portfolio?

What is a good way for a writer to keep clips for a portfolio? Screen shots? Most of my articles are online. Need some ideas for a nice portfolio.

Something I would add to the excellent answers above would be a full web page picture generator to save your own copy of any published items which are out on the web. An offline version of such a utility is called WebShot. I use it all the time and it's free. Doing this means you can save full-length web page items onto your own, non-rented platform. Also if you're building your own WordPress installation, don't forget to back it up with a free plugin.

Agree with WordPress. Doesn't really need any knowledge of HTML. There are lots of slideshow plug-ins available which can be used with images of your work. There's also a nice plug-in for Firefox browser called PageSaver which lets you capture all or part of any webpage you're looking at - saves it as a jpeg or png file.

Evernote and I also just File--> Print --> Save to PDF in case some of the links disappear in the future.  You never know!
