    The three red lights have obtained the nickname "Red Ring of Death" for a good reason. If your xbox is showing this, it is pretty much had it. If it is under warranty contact Microsoft and they will fix or replace it. If not, you can still send it to Microsoft but they will charge you to fix it (ring them up to find out how much and how log it will take). There are known DIY fixes, which involve opening up the console and fiddling around inside. About the towels… So I thought I'd try "baking" because the real fix has overheating XBOX as a real step. So while I am waiting for my fix kit to be shipped ($20 worth of bolts, and thermal paste) I wanted to use Xbox and Kinect. I wrapped 2 towels and turned on the Xbox - took about 4 minutes for it to reach certain temperature and shut down. I gave it some time to cool down and turned it on - all green lights! Now this "baking" temp fix worked for 1.5 days and ring of death came back. I don't want to do it again, so I am still waiting for my kit xboxless :)
