How do you save a page as a tab?

Is the "Destination Tab" pull down in Facebook Ads (when you create an ad) influenced by the default landing tab in the page manager?

  • Here is the situation that I have that lead me to my question: For a page I am the admin on, I have created a default landing tab for my page that is a reveal tab in an effort to convert likers (makes sense).  This page is called "Tips" Today, I created a new tab (via the static FBML app) that I want to be the landing page for an ad that I run in Facebook (and I DON'T want to be the default landing page for the page...).  This page is called "Training" Is it possible to run an ad and select Training as the destination tab for the ad, even though "Tips" is the default landing tab for the page?  I've repetitively tried to pick the "Training" tab as the default landing tab for the ad, but it won't ever save.  It keeps going back to "Default".  Anyone know if what I'm trying to do is possible?  It clearly isn't working now. Facebook bug or by design?  What perplexes me is that why is there a pull down for the "Destination Tab" in the ad creation process if you can't select one?

  • Answer:

This sounds like a bug -- that "destination tab" option is fairly new. Maybe you can trick it: temporarily change the default landing tab for non-fans to "training", then create an ad and see if it "sticks". If it does, you can likely change your default landing tab back without it affecting the ad. Let me know how it works out.
