    The cross of Nero (broken cross) represents the hatred and persecution of Christians. Nero (Roman Emperor from 54 to 68, Julio-Claudian) hated the Christian people, and crucified Peter the Apostle (St. Peter). Peter asked to be crucified with his head facing downwards as a sign of humility and respect for Christ. Many other Christians were crucified this way. The broken/upside down cross is both a sign of Christian genocide and a sign of Peter’s humility and sacrifice. The symbol appears in motifs of Anton LaVey (Church of Saran), Germanic tribes, and pagan rituals. It is also used to symbolize death (death rune/"todersrune"). The peace sign was used as early as 711 A.D. by the Saracens as a symbol of Christian hate. The two diagonal segments are meant to represent the breaking of the cross. It was carved into shields and armor.

The peace sign is a combination of the semaphore signals for 'N' and 'D' standing for "Nuclear Disarmament" which is what the symbol was originally designed to represent.  The peace sign has no connection to Nero's Cross. I'm not even sure what you mean by that? Do you mean Constantine?

I presume by 'peace sign' you mean the symbol used by the UK campaigning group CND (campaign for nuclear disarmament) which was derived from the semaphore signals for the letters ND. Its subsequent adoption as the so-called peace sign and its somewhat fanciful 'history' are just testament to a good bit of logo design and an inherently powerful symbol.
