What do you do when your email account has been compromised?
-
Also, does it make any difference if it's Gmail, Yahoo!, etc.?
-
Answer:
If you use Gmail or Google Apps, first thing you'd want to do is go to your Settings and un-authorize any applications that look suspicious, which you might have given permission to access your account in the past. Here's how to do it: - while being logged into your Gmail account, go to: https://www.google.com/settings - click "Security" from the left menu - Edit "Authorizing Applications and Sites" - Un-authorize suspicious services by clicking "Revoke Access". Hope that helped.
