Where can I find the shortcut keys of all the applications?

Is there a mac shortcut to scroll through open applications?

  • I know you can do 4 fingers sideways to see all open applications.  There is also command-tab, which scrolls through the most recently used applications, but if those applications are minimized, they don't pop up onto my screen.  For example, let's say I am working on Excel and have Word minimized.  When I minimize excel, is there a way to open word, say by command-tabbing over to word, and then pressing some keys to bring up the window?

  • Answer:

You might want to try Alfred from the Mac App Store. The free version should suffice for your needs. I changed the shortcut to Cmd ` so all my spaces, app opening and moving commands are together.

I have an pref pane app called Witch which allows you to tab through all open windows rather than just open apps, as per standard Cmd+Tab. Actually I find that I use it rarely partly because I chickened-out of over-writing the standard shortcut. But it works perfectly and bundles some additional functionality too, if I'm not mistaken. Not sure if it's available in MAS, but certainly you'd find it on the Internet and only requires a few coins, if that's the kind of thing you were looking for.

Actually I think I may have found the answer.  Control-f3, or fn-control-f3 on a laptop, selects an item on the dock.  Then you can scroll through the items and open them up by pressing return.
