What are the key elements in a facebook page?

Using the Facebook landing page (www.Facebook.com/RTYPN) as an example, what elements are best for encouraging interactions for a nonprofit looking to increase membership through social media?

  • This landing tab is for a nonprofit looking to increase membership and target young professionals.  Currently the tab has a Non-Fan/Fan Reveal, Video, RSS, Twitter, Upcoming Events, Friend Invites and contact forms.  Any suggestion would be welcome.

    You could add video clips from past events to your page, so that people can get a glimpse of what your events are like. You have a very nice landing (welcome) page, and I don't think that is your issue. I bet you could do more to advertise your Facebook community in emails, on traditional advertising, and actually at the events you hold. Make sure your Facebook page address is plastered anywhere you may find potential members. You may also want to be sure you are syndicating any valuable content you have on your website to your Facebook page -- why isn't your events calendar on your Page, and why not more about becoming a member? You could use FBML to create new tabs for membership and for your calendar. Hope these tips help!
