Why does it take so long to process California's drivers license?

Because the people who work for the department of motor vehicles are unionized and can't be fired for not working hard.  This widespread problem goes back to JFK paying a political debt.The article "JFK, the Real Killer of Laquan McDonald" at http://www.scragged.com/articles/jfk-the-real-killer-of-laquan-mcdonald points out that his allowing government employees to unionize makes it impossible for government to do anything constructive because employees can't be fired, bankrupts our cities and states, and lets government employees murder citizens with impunity.We can't fix schools without breaking teachers' unions.  Democrats can't win elections, however, without union support.  They'll let unions keep not educating kids, and they'll let unions keep murdering citizens.The only way to fix murdering cops is for black people to vote in Republicans in our big cities.  This is not because Republicans are virtuous - they aren't - it's because letting either party run anything for decades on end produces corruption which winks at murder as in Chicago.Politicians should be changed as often as babies' diapers and for the same reason.

In fact, it does not take that long. Apparently the DMV is just hedging with their estimate. I just received my license in the mail exactly one week after applying in person.

During the 1960s and 1970s, when a young man was caught committing a minor crime, such as car theft, robbery, or third offense drunk driving, the Judge would offer him a choice - join the military or go to jail. Even with Vietnam in swing, many chose the military. Today those same offenders are given a new choice, go to jail or work for the California Department of Motor Vehicles .

I have no idea why it takes about 3 months to actually get the license. Some of my friends in fact waited the ID for more than half year, while some received their ID only after 5days. So, yeah, maybe they are just lazy of doing their jobs or what. Well, I am still waiting for my own license. When in some other states, people can get their license immediately after passing the Road test. Some augre that the CA ID requires much higher technology to manufacture, and that’s why. But, in fact, it never takes such a long time to make one single card, or many the very same cards in factories. So,why?
