How do you create a Non-Profit Organization at the least costly?

How do I create a Facebook page for my organization without using my personal account?

  • My organization has asked me to create a Facebook page. But I want to  create it without using my own personal Facebook member account. The reason being is that when I leave the organization, the Facebook fan page must stay with them. If I created the page through my personal account then when I leave the organization, that would mean taking the fan page with me since it is connected to my personal account. So how can I solve this problem?

  • Answer:

Against the rules I know but I have seen fake personal accounts set-up just to admin business pages!

This is a misunderstanding of FB's fan page model. When you create a fan page you are establishing (really, you are documenting) a new entity on the graph. That entity will have "administrators" of which you are one, but ultimately it is the entity that "owns" the page not you.If you create a page for a business then the business owns the page.If you create a page for a celebrity then the celebrity owns the page.etc.I've seen plenty of cases where Facebook will remove admins of a page if they are not the official owner - this ensures Christiano Ronaldo controls his fan page and not a fan who has created it on his behalf for example. When you leave your current organisation simply add a colleague as an administrator and ask them to remove you. Use your Personal Facebook Account to login to Facebook to create a Facebook Business Page. There is no option to use Facebook Business Pages unless you have a Personal Facebook Account. You have the option of not having your Personal Facebook Account associated with the Business Page in any way, if you like.Once you create the Business page, add another member of the company to the page as an Administrator.If/when you leave the company you can delete yourself as an administrator. is mistaken. If you create a Facebook business page from the initial login page, Facebook will ask you to login before continuing.I hope this is helpful.Reach out to me on http://about.me/tlburriss if I can help you in any way.

In the list of admins you can add more admins. If you should leave the company, you can simply be deleted from the list of while the other admins stay. Edit: Go to http://www.facebook.com/pages/create.php Select your category and set up the page Accept the terms and select "I do not have a Facebook account" Enter an email and confirm the email Facebook sends you You now have created a page that is not linked to a personal account

Create a new email account and a new Facebook profile based off of that account.  From that new "personal" profile, create your organization's Facebook page.  This will allow you to share a mutual password and collaborate with your colleagues without invading personal space.

You can set up a Business account for the organisation. The option to do this is on the log in screen on the bottom right. Once you have set this up you can add admins to the page for the people that will be updating the page.  To get full functionality of the business page it will need to be accessed via an admin but you can still perform basic functions via the business account.

I think I have a related issue. I am a volunteer with a community Arts organisation. It is a charity, not a profit-making business. I was made co-administrator of its Facebook page. I was able to access this via my previously existing personal account. They were otherwise completely separate. However, in recent months Facebook has closed down the Arts organisation’s home page. I am still able to post on there under the organisation’s name. But I have now lost all of the details of contacts, performers, agents, media etc. We are unable to “follow” people who may be important to us or pick up others posting on our shared interests. This has significantly damaged our reach! My personal account is unaffected. I guess we could close down our FB page & start again using an alternative email address & log-on but that may have its own problems - not least being we lose all our existing followers. Help!!!!

You can create a Facebook business page, but this will cost a weeny bit. I think it is around 7 dollars per month.Know that if your page is highly successful, it can be deleted at any time by Facebook. Make your employers aware of this. And it is not necessarily an indication of your having made any mistakes in running the page at all. put this in writing and ask them to write back that they accept this is a possibility and if this happens at any time, you will not be held accountable. I know of one business which built up 100 000 followers and which recently had their page shut down overnight and, to make matters worse, Facebook are not responding to any messages. I think this behaviour is outrageous, but ultimately this is what you are agreeing to when you agree to their terms. My advice: by all means create a Facebook business page, but make sure you create a separate email list using AWeber, so that even if the page gets shut down, you still have all of those contacts and the company can still do its thing,, advertising and marketing stuff to them. AWeber will charge money too. It is 1 dollar for the first month and then 19 dollars for each month after that up to your first 1000 subscribers. You will also need a postal address to go under each email you send out using AWeber, but you could probably use your company's one for that.

Use the CEOs account or make a Facebook account for the organization with an office email account.
