How to clear my headphone jack in my computer?

Computer Repair: How can I remove a connector that's stuck in my headphone jack?

• A headphone splitter broke after I tried to insert it into my headphone jack. Now, about half of the metal connector is stuck in my mac. My sound won't work since the computer thinks my headphones are in. I've tried using tweezers, but no luck yet.

  Whatever you do, do NOT use superglue! Depending on how much of the pin is stuck in the jack you might still be able to see the lock spring inside (use a flashlight to look) if you can, get a very thin paper clip, straighten it out and while tipping the computer, push the spring out of the way, with any luck, it should just fall out. (might take several attempts, be patient!) If you cant see the lock spring you will need to open the chassis an get at the spring from the inside.
