What size of artwork should I create for a digital menu for a TV with resolution 1024px x 768px and actual screen size 40.1"w x20.5"h?

I am designing a digital menu for a customer to display it on a TV, the resolution is 1024px x 768px, but the physical screen size is 40.1"w x 20.5"h. What is the best way to setup the artwork dimension?
-
Answer:
This is still considered a 720p TV. You should design for a 1280x720p image and the TV will do appropriate scaling.
