How does timeline pages are created on Wikipedia?
-
Typically, all Wikipedia pages are created manually. But look at the exhaustiveness of timeline pages (e.g. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/January_2, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2011), I am just curious if they are automatically generated by a program based on content of other pages.

Answer:
These are created and maintained manually. While some lists could be maintained automatically (and Wikidata aims to provide that ability to Wikipedia in early 2013), many need manual curation; A list of everything that happened in 1967 would simply be overwhelming and useless.
