What does a marketing director do?

What kind of salary should I negotiate as a marketing director with no experience?

• I have one year experience as the marketing intern for a medical device company in Chicago. The director is moving on, and the position was offered to me. I have no experience with marketing at this level, and tomorrow i'm presenting a company marketing plan to the CEO. I'm currently making 28k, and the bottom 10% of marketing directors make 57k. What should I expect?
