What is an equity position?

Startup Recruiting: Is there a site besides Craigslist that you can use to advertise a wanted position for a technical equity partner in a start up?

    If by technical equity partner you mean someone who won't be paid but would work for equity, those are the hardest to find. I've heard good things about http://founderdating.com/ . I also know a young startup called http://ekwity.com/ who's trying to tackle that problem. I'm sure there are others but can't think of them right now. Good luck!

http://Hired.com.com allows you to communicate what type of employment and companies you are interested in through your profile. You can also add details as to how much equity you are looking, salary expectations, industry preference, etc. If you are good enough, several companies will come knocking at your door with offers. Demand for talent outweighs the supply, be sure to take advantage of it :).

Those sites sound very useful, but you also could go local.  Find a tech founders roundtable, local angel investor group or even an economic development agency that will allow you to post or present.  I'd also join a co-working space for a few months, and put the word out there.

I have used the site http://Indeed.com and I also have used http://founderdating.com   also, try going to Meetups, hackathons, pitch events, etc.  in your local area so you can meet with people face to face .
