What would be bold points to create a virtual printer which can be listed in available printer list and can be picked by applications which use printer (Windows and Linux)?
-
We want our virtual printer to be visible as available printers/installed printers (on windows and linux) and any application which is calling printer actually call virtual printer. This printer would then take this data to our systems.

Answer:
I think for this you will need to write a printer driver that could be recognized by Windows. I do not think you can do this in an interpreted language that as Java runs inside of a virtual machine. You probably will have to do it in something like C or C++. If someone is able to do it in Java, he will blow my mind.
