What is a great business name?

What are some great non-traditionals ways for a startup/small business to promote their brand and get their name out there? Are Groupon deals, competitions, free advice a good idea? Any advantages or disadvantages?

  After taking a look at your site product (love it by the way), I'd say the key is to create a really strong network of contacts. If I was to offer just one direction, it would be to approach some companies and offer a free video. Not just any company, though, but Blogs and sites that reach out to a wide audience. Sites like Copy Blogger, Mashable, etc. Decide who you want to reach out to ({who is your core audience), deice the best sites to approach (where does this core audience reside), and approach them with a compelling pitch. You do videos for information reasons (like an intro to the company), but I'm sure you could create a great video that acts as an infographic, parody, etc. Approach the website/Blog with a few ideas, something you think could relate to their audience. If you can connect with two or three large sites, and ultimately have them endorse you, the reach will be in the hundred of thousands. These sites also improve the chances of it going viral. A site like Mashabale for instance, can have a huge influence on what gets spread elsewhere. You connect with power users, you add to your portfolio, and you have a chance to go viral.
