What is a low to fair wage to pay an independent contractor Administrative Assistant / Virtual Assistant who works remotely from Budapest, Hungary and is paid in US Dollars or Local Currency per hour?

Depends mostly on the skill set you need (i.e. level of English, written only?). I think the lowest hourly rate should be HUF 1000 (for a private provider) to HUF 1500 (for a specialised company) - so think of $US 5ish as a minimum fair hourly rate should be around HUF 2000 (give or take 10-15%) - that is roughly $US 10 Disclaimer (sort of): have been on both side of the equation and as an 'employer' the issue will be sourcing and quality. Now, I happily use somebody and is working on a local VAfair solution as a side project. Good luck and give a shout if you get stuck ;)
