How do I search for a user?

I want to build a website with a search engine that links user search inputs to entries that other users have submitted.  How should I proceed?

  • I have zero web development experience.  I have a domain name picked out but unregistered yet.  Should I try to learn web programming on my own, and then get outside help/investors?  (If so, suggestions on learning?)  Should I try to find someone who knows web programming and go 50/50 with them?  (None of my friends knows web programming and I don't want to be Eduardo Saverined.)  Should I hire someone immediately?  (How much would such a site cost to develop, update and run?)  Thanks so much in advance.

    I think this sounds like a perfect project for you to start learning web programming on your own.   It may take you many months of work, but learning programming is a great skill.  For learning, there are several websites to help you learn (for free).  I'd look at sites like Codecademy and Stackexchange.   And the best way to learn is when you have an actual goal/project that you want to create.
