How can I extract the Alexa rank of a list of websites in MS Excel?

I need to extract the Alexa global rank of a list of websites that I have in MS Excel. Is there a quick way to do this using a macro / VBA? Can you please explain the process to me (or share links for the same). I'm looking for any quicker alternatives to checking the rank for each website by typing the url on Alexa.

I was recently looking for an answer to this exact question and I found a program called http://bit.ly/1dHuJJb that works. I was able to import a .txt file list of urls and it pulled the current Alexa traffic rank for each url. It took over an hour to pull Alexa data for more than 3,000 urls. Then it let me export a .csv file that included all the rankings. Now I can play around with the data in Excel. Way easier than importXML with Google Sheets.

If you search for a website in Alexa to get its rank, the output page url has a pattern - "http:/ /http://www.alexa.com/siteinfo/quora.com". So you can concatenate the first part " http:/ /http://www.alexa.com/siteinfo/" " and "website name". Now go to Data tab in Excel, select "From Web" and in the dialogue box give the concatenated url. When you click on Go, you can select the data you want to import to excel from the webpage and get the data. Since you have a list of websites you can record this process as a macro and get the global rank for all the websites in just one click. Hope this helps !!
