What is the role of the Nurse in healthcare?

What role can/will medical tourism play in helping people struggling with rising healthcare costs?

  • I am particularly interested in people from countries with expensive healthcare visiting other countries where the treatment they need is cheaper. (This is as opposed to some people who go to other countries for healthcare because of long waiting times for certain procedures.)

    Ideally insurance companies should have a tie-up for treatment/ surgery outside their country, for those with under (not enough) insurance cover. Those without any insurance cover may be sent out by Governments involved. Example: If United States wishes to use Indian facilities for such out sourced surgery, they can insist on something akin to an ACO with doctors who have US/ UK qualification and think of saving huge taxpayer money.
