Compact Discs (CDs): Can i dry the printed surface with an hair dryer?
-
I'm printing RiDisc full face white printable cds with a Primera DP-XRP. This time the graphic is mostly black (never tried to print so much black surface on a cd) and the ink when the robot has done its work is not well dried. The problem is that i've not enogh time to wait that they naturally dry. So if i remeber right to not ruining cds i've to keep them in a range of about 10-50°C and i've not idea how hot could be the air of an hair dryer. Do u think that if i dry the printed surface with an hair dryer i could ruin them? Any advice appreciated.

Answer:
That would work for a small amount of CDs if you keep the hair dryer a decent distance away from them. Or run it at low heat. The polycarbonate will be OK at high temp for a short period of time, but you'll have to experiment with how hot you can get the label.
