How do I compile ipfw on Mac OS X?
-
I just downloaded the source code of "network_cmds-329.2.2" from Apple opensource and opened the project with Xcode. By default, only rtsol was set in the build targets. So, I edited the product scheme and replaced rtsol with ipfw as the build target. Compilation resulted in a lot of errors. One of them was: "The struct dn_flow_queue was defined in BSD hear file ip_dummynet.h". I am new to Mac OS X. Can anyone give me some suggestions for what I may be doing wrong?

Answer:
I don't think you can. But then again, why would you want to ? One of the best firewalls available is the OpenBSD PF firewall, and it is on your Mac, right now. This is the book to get. http://amzn.to/1YQiRMo Else you can easily find information online. http://blog.scottlowe.org/2013/05/15/using-pf-on-os-x-mountain-lion/
