How to apply liquid retin-a?

As a designer, how relevant is the MacBook Pro with Retina Display to my work?

• I'm a web designer who works primarily with photoshop, HTML,CSS. How will designing on the retina display affect my work? And how will it affect users not using the retina display?

  It's going to become similar to how developers had to shift while designing for the iOS retina displays. All images now have to be @2x (twice the size, same file name). But HTML does not support having multiple image sizes for retina displays. Photoshop on the retina display doesn't look very good (since the graphics for the photoshop application - icons, menus etc are fully custom and adobe has not updated it for retina yet - not sure about CS6, the one I played around with was CS5). I also opened up a 1024 x 768 canvas and it was the same size as it was on my old 15" macbook pro. It wasn't half the size on the retina display as I was imagining it to be. I'm guessing photoshop will update their save for web.. dialog to output images in two resolutions for retina and non-retina. Also, since the macbook pro with retina is only one in the mac line and not a blanket change across the line, it will take longer for developers and designers to update graphics on their applications and websites, so it's going to be a while till things start looking crisp on the retina display.
