What are military Baggage fees?

Are Ryanair checked baggage fees the same at airport check-in and at the gate?

Does anyone know what fees are actually charged at the check-in desk in practice?

  I think it's perfectly clear.   If you arrive at checkin the fees shown on your first link are charged if you check a bag and, yes, you will save £75 if you pre book that bag (and more if you pre book 2 bags).   You then continue to the gate with the bag you want to take on board with you.   If Ryanair deem that is outside their tems and that it has to be put in the hold you pay the 2nd fee. And beware.   They can be extremely picky.   If the bag the you check in weighs more than 20 or 15kg it is deemed overweight.   If you pay for 2 15kg bags and then arrive with 1 @16kg and 1@14 they don't aggregate - the 16kg one is overweight.   And the same applies at the gate.   The average US roller simply won't be allowed in the cabin. You may wonder why?   Well, 2 reasons, the less weight they have to carry the less fuel they use.   The charges are there to dissuade you from carrying anything.   The other relates to the cabin; minimal cabin baggage means less waiting while people search for a space for their bag and ask someone else to help lift it, that means quicker turnaround. Stick to the rules you'll be fine.   Try and break them and you'll get burned.
