What are the best ways to do marketing via internet?

What are some good exit plans for a digital or internet marketing agency?

  • I was recently having a discussion with a good old friend who's planning to start an internet marketing agency about the possible exit plans which he can consider in the near future (just in case). His agency plans to target small and medium enterprises in the retail and manufacturing sectors. So many questions were going through my mind at that moment but the foremost has to be the best possible way of transition from one to the other. I did give him some crappy answers and solutions but i'm still curious on the best possible ways to do the same.I'll the the happiest person if anyone can help me out with your valuable suggestions based on your experiences and observations.Thanks.

  • Answer:

Aside from being acquired by a larger agency in the same vertical, a number of creative agencies, PR firms, and media agencies are interested in growing their internet marketing divisions. An alternative route that some agencies take is to grow a service and product hybrid model, starting with internal toolsets which they then make public. Most famously, both SEOmoz and Raven Internet Marketing Tools transitioned from being SEO consulting agencies to tools providers.

For ventures like advertising agencies, PR agencies, digital media companies, acquisition by a larger agency is a possible exit option. In some cases, the company may be acquired by a large company, primarily to acquire the team. However, the valuations in such cases are not likely to be very exciting.
