Adobe Photoshop: How do you convert .psd files to .pdf files?

  • I have attempted to save as .pdf in CS5 but I do not see PDF as a supported save file type.

    In Photoshop (I tried CS5): File>Save As>Photoshop PDF. In you intend to distribute PDFs to users where they won't need to re-open the PDF back in Photoshop, deselect the option "Preserve Photoshop editing capabilties in the dialog that comes up later"

I use CS 5, too. You can click File-->Save as --> Photoshop PDF. Here the file format is PS PDF. It don't like common one. It seems like can only be played on Photoshop.

I'm not sure about CS5 (frankly, it's been a while since I've used that version of the software), but in in newer versions of Photoshop, you can choose File > Automate > PDF Presentation, and then choose output options from there. Also, in some versions of Photoshop, if you have Layer Comps in your document (which I highly recommend using, to show different document states, or design options), you can choose File > Scripts > Layer Comps to PDF... (or Layer Comps to Files... for even more options). Note that these export scripts have moved to File > Export... in Photoshop CC 2015 and newer.

You can do it using Adobe Bridge. Access the file there and you will get an option to publish the PSD as a PDF. There are online converters available too. Just google it :)

Make one copy of your PSD for the backup , then marge all the layers, and save as PDF. You can press Ctrl+s, in the file format option , you can find the PDF is there.
