What are the future prospects of biotechnology students?

Which is better course among msc medical biotechnology and msc clinical virology for good scope in India?

  • I have completed bsc biotechnology from manipal life sciences centre, manipal. I would like to pursue my masters too in the same field, but I caught up choosing between two courses- medical biotechnology and msc clinical virology. I have great interest in both the fields but I doubt in the future prospects of both. Which field will be more suited for If I looking for research based job in companies?

    In India its hard to end up with a good job in industry without PhD or rather do M.tech. It may take more time and effort and you can't guarantee a job. If you are very much firm and determined about it and have patience only then go for it. In industries connections work and you may end-up doing a job a for very less salary. Even abroad the field is quite saturated with very less job opportunities or make a plan B.I would suggest clinical virology as you may get job in diagnostic or clinical setting.

In India both field doesn't have much scope but these fields blooming in abroad so u do masters in general biotechnology so that you are open for all the fields in biotechnology job opportunities I'll be more compare to clinical virology and medical biotechnology and general biotechnology is broad field and med biotechnology and clinical virology is bit narrow so keeping in the mind about job market in India you go for general biotechnology all the best
