Freelance Graphics Designer title?

What is a recommended job title to put on a business card and email correspondence for a UX designer who is a managing partner at a tech company that he founded?

  • What job title would have the clearest message and lend the most credibility? I did not want to use CEO because it sounds pretentious for a company with less than 50 employees and grossing less than $1 Million per year. In my case I: formed my LLC, Manage all the business aspects, I do front-end development, mobile development, but mostly focus on User Experience Design. I tootk the title of User Experience designer since amongst my partners, that is my most frequent contribution. Could there be a lack of credibility when I mention that I develop but have a title of a UX designer? the options I am considering are: * Co-founder and UX Designer * Managing Partner and UX Designer * Founder / User Experience Designer

  • Answer:

Lead Designer, Chief Product Officer, Chief Product Designer, Design Boss. I would probably do. Founder / Lead Designer. Something like that. You want to be able to take credit for the work you have done ( founded the company, done all the design work ). If your title was just UX designer I feel like you aren't demonstrating how much ownership and passion you probably have with your company. Although you want to be modest, you have to also think that the person who is given that business card will be really excited if they see that you are a powerful person in that company and not JUST a designer.
