Grades to get into a good college?

Is it possible to get into University with good grades in college, but bad grades in high school?

  • Basically if you slacked in high school, can you get past that with decent-good grades in college, or will universities still look at the high school grades. Should also add that this is more for Canadian universities/colleges.

  • Answer:

After freshman year in college, no one cares about high school unless if you did something truly amazing during it.

Yes, it is absolutely possible. why would any university care about your high school grades when you've completed four years of college with good grades? At that point your high school grades are irrelevant and completely not recent enough to reflect your abilities.

Grades are not the exclusive criteria used by universities.  Each university has a different criteria (grades, essays, recommendations, standardized tests,  extracurricular activities/projects, achievements, and some use interviews as well).  I would talk to the university specifically.
