Which degree should I get?

Which is better:studying abroad to get a master degree more useful or doctorate degree in CS?

• I want to study aboard, but i don't know whether to choose to get a doctorate degree or master degree. Does a master degree student experience more than a doctorate student? i have heard companys such as Google Facebook don't like man with CS doctorate degree very much

  If you don't know, get a masters degree.  You really should know that you want to conduct academic research in some subfield of computer science before applying for a PhD program.  If you don't know, then it will be hard to convince the admissions committee to accept you. If you don't want to take on student loans, then a PhD program probably fits better since those are often free tuition + ~$30k annual stipend for a good school whereas masters programs charge tuition and offer fewer guarantees with respect to funding options. The job you would want to seek with a masters versus a PhD should be different.  My opinion is that if all you want to do is take the regular software engineering track, but start a few ranks up via the PhD, then it's not worth it.  The PhD might hurt your job search if you are only applying for jobs that are granted to people with only bachelors and masters degrees.  Then the PhD just makes you an overeducated underachiever. Google and Facebook like people with PhDs just fine.  A lot of PhDs are going to these companies just to have access to the large datasets. Also, keep in mind that getting a masters degree before the PhD isn't a horrible idea.  Personally, it's not something I would do due to the price, but it only seems like it's common practice in the US to skip the masters degree.  Many Europeans seem to get the masters degree first.  Not sure about elsewhere.  You'll probably have to take more coursework, but then the masters degree would give you time to think about research areas.
