Strictly speaking, PhoneGap is just a wrapper for HTML5 applications, and appMobi is a PhoneGap-based SDK. Among other Javascript frameworks, Titanium Appcelerator is known to be pretty popular among enterprise users. If I were to start using a new framework, it would probably be http://Trigger.IO - they're YC and 500Startups funded, and adding on new and useful features at a fast pace.
