What are some things to do, see and eat on Maui?

Glad to see the props for Haleakala: the crater is my favorite. Others: South/West shore snorkeling. Hit the Hana-Waianapanapa coastal trail. Sunset cocktails in Lahaina or Kaanapali. Hit up Bev Gannon's Haliimaile General Store to taste where Hawaii Regional Cuisine got its start. Sam Sato's in Wailuku for legendary dry noodles. Spend time chilling in charming Paia and Makawao (get cream puffs at Komoda Bakery there) Drive Olina Road: Spectacular views See what's going on at the Maui Arts and Cultural Center.

I lived on Maui for 18 years and the best things to do are: eat at Mama's Fish house, shop in Paia, go on a snorkel boat, and go to the lavender farm.

In addition to the activities mentioned here already I would suggest: Stay at the Grand Wailea - amazing food, spa, rooms, service, pools.... completely lovely and relaxing!

Hike Haleakala overnight. This requires both permits and a cabin reservation. See the NeNe. Hike out the crater gap to the Kaipo Store. Other things: those are dependent on my cousins who live there.

There are tons of fun things to do here on Maui! You can choose to lounge on some of the most beautiful beaches, go for a drive to Hana, visit the Maui Ocean Center, explore the bustling Front Street in Lahaina, play a round of golf, or during the winter months there are many whale watching opportunities. Seeing the sunrise from Haleakala is amazing. You can get a ride up (very early) and then bike down.

So many great things and easy to pack your day full. But I would suggest spending 1 day relaxing on the beach, snorkeling (Black Rock is a good spot), and Mt. Haleakala for sunset 1 day Road to Hana - going to be rushed if you want to hike and do the full loop (consider prioritizing hiking/dipping in a swimming hole or driving full loop instead of both) 1 day driving and spending some time around Nakalele Point For local food, definitely consider Poi by the Pound. It's in an industrial part of town, so not very touristy ... but very very authentic.
