Why would Google remove the name "Persian Gulf" from Google Maps?

• It seems that Google removed the name "Persian Gulf" from Google Maps without any explanation. It may be caused from some negotiation between Arabs and Iranians about the name. Arabs say the name should be "Arabian Gulf", but Persians and almost all history books and maps say it should be "Persian Gulf". And the strange thing is that Google decided to remove the name from its map!   Well honestly I think that Google is playing around this issue, if you look at Google earth you'll see that they are using both names, which makes me think they are still denying the fact that it should be called Persian gulf. I know that arab countries around the Persian gulf are not happy with this historical fact and they are trying to push Google to change the Gulf name to Arabian Gulf, but you look at the map you'll see that there is an other Gulf right next to Persian Gulf which is called Oman Gulf and it has been called like that forever. Now based on the fact that Iran has a big border with that Gulf would it fair to start a campaign to change the name of that Gulf? obviously no, we have to accept historical and established international facts and try not to make the whole situation worse then it is. Just because arab countries around the Persian Gulf have money and just because all of the sudden they don't like the name "Persian", Google should not ignore all the facts and use the arabian gulf on their map.
