Is there a good way to export highlights/bookmarks from epub files out to a text file?

I read a lot of business and technical books; would be nice to pull out all the highlighted texts to a single text document in a single batch run.

There are a few apps out there that can help you out. A lot depends on whether you're on the Android or the iOS platform. While many of the platforms allow you to access documents purchased on their platform (e.g. purchases on Amazon for the kindle can be access via: http://kindle.amazon.com), for non-native documents it's a bit trickier. This is what I've learned so far. If there are better answers, I'd love to learn! For iOS and ePub, I find that Apple's iBooks is pretty good. You can send your highlighted notes via an email (closest thing to a txt file). For Android with epub or mobi files, I've found that moon+ Pro is a great app. I originally picked it up via Google's Play store, but found that Amazon is selling it for a few cents less: http://amzn.to/SE0vbI (I originally had affiliate link in here, but after a quick search, found out that it's not allowed, so this should be a clean link. let me know if its otherwise)

Hi, on Android I am using the Pocketbook app, which supports the following annotation functions: highlighting, linked comments, screen captures. Annotations are saved automatically and can be exported to simple html. I encountered some grief when moving files around, it appears prudent to a) export annotations after each prolonged reading sessions and b) synchronise the exported files (html format) with a second directory in which files are not automatically overwritten. The downside to this app: unconvenient for library management, as tags are not supported. But since the app can easily be used with Calibre, either directly via the formers server functionality or in combination with Calibre companion. The latter requires pro version if your device library exceeds 20 volumes, one time fee of approx. four usd. pocket is free, add free version available for max. three usd.
